Asleep lay a heart of stone But never alone You can make a tender one Your sound wakes my mind for Your morning song Many rushing waters come Breaking like the morning sun My heart is yours Every dawn This light is yours You whisper in horizons arms Your colour is warm This heat is like a healing balm From the evenings wars You pierce me with the dreamers sword Breaking like the morning sun My heart is yours Every dawn This light is yours

Deliverance 03:55
Your love is a flood and I drink deep when the tide is up Oh would you flood me too? Saltwater in my blood has made me taste sweet to the world Oh and you taste sweet too This is my deliverance hands held high as you deliver it Oh you have made me a child of God My feet on the ground and my heart in heaven I am bread made without the leaven Oh you have made me a child of God I lay in the sand with sweet forgiveness in my hand Oh as a gift from you Your water floods my brain this grey cranium wont be the same No where I’ve been won’t do This is my deliverance hands held high as you deliver it Oh you have made me a child of God My feet on the ground and my heart in heaven I am bread made without the leaven Oh you have made me a child of God And I won’t go Until I know That you have sown All you have in me

Vineyard 04:27
I will wait to see the day Of your vine Of your vine Will you take to the hands of thine This heart of mine This heart of mine There is a vineyard of the Lord There is a vineyard for us all With all our troubles left behind the door We drink first light until the dawn There is love There is love In the Lord There is a forest built without the thorns There is a vineyard of the Lord We are all pillars in the store rooms of His love and his mercy There is love There is love In the Lord Oh my soul oh my soul Will drink you in will drink you in So tell me Lord tell me Lord Will you let me drink you in? There is a vineyard of the Lord There is a vineyard for us all Well he's burning up the clouds without remorse Yeh they burn with his coming

You took my heart away And gave me another one My bodies in the grave But I have another one With open hands you gave Gave me another wine To drink through all my days And no one can steal mine Hey new wine! When I lay down my head My dreams are so colourful I can almost see your face Before i tremble My shoes are old and worn Cause I've been runnin' But now they're on the stool Cause I've stopped runnin' Hey new wine!
5.
Home 02:38
I see revelation standing at the door I have held your hand for so long I don’t remember anymore I have searched 10 miles wide and far more than that deep And I'm so glad a decade on your fire still burns in me Let them speak of man who lives to die And in my bones beat the pleasure of your fire My heart still breaks but the rivers running wilder every day That’s how I know I am home I used to think my energy would carry me on through But poetry kissed reality the moment I met you All my years and all my friends never told me what you do But now I know it’s so obvious that through that I grew Let them speak of man who lives to die And in my bones beat the pleasure of your fire My heart still breaks but the rivers running wilder every day That’s how I know I am home

Posters 04:01
Heaven is closer Heaven is near We are all posters here The dam it is building The trees they are growing We are all posters here My son, will it all be there? When you go, when you go My Son, will it all be near? Will you know, will you know? The Father has spoken The Son he was broken We are all pictures here The family is growing A rose in the field sings We are all pictures here My son, will it all be there? When you go, when you go My Son, will it all be near? Will you know, will you know? When he comes?

Wells 03:20
Well I have bought fire and I've bought ice I've sold myself and I've sold lies And I've walked these streets I know these roads I know the beat they'd tell you so And I know I need grace more than I ever have before I've done one thing and separately have done the other I don't mean I've knelt to pray and walked away And not listened and not forgave So I say I need your love now and I need it now to change I've seen the wells with dirt be filled Stood in the dessert left to melt And I've felt the rain through my veins To see the wells open again My heart now changed You give your Spirit when I give my life away
8.
Not Alone 04:24
I've been watching I've been watching for a while Wearing down my shoes Wearing down the glue I've been hoping Hoping you'd open your eyes Cause things are soon to change Through all the years of wind and rain You are not alone I've been waiting I've been waiting for a while For the covered night to fade And the chill to warm away Oh Lord because I know I know you've been blind for a while But let the water wash away All those years and all those muddy scales You are not alone Child you'll never see your face Poured out like the winter rain No you are not alone You are not alone And in moments you will feel the pace Caught up in the human race No you are not alone You are not alone
9.
Daily Bread 04:54
I wanna know where the fortress of hope does rest To lay beside the banks of joy not loneliness I wanna feel the weight of eternal rest To build the walls of freedom higher than the rest Take everything I have Let it be multiplied as it’s broken in your hands You are my daily you are my daily you are my daily bread There has been a harbour where the tide sets in Built upon each other are the bricks my friend I wanna feel the sun rise on my innocence To know it’s warm glow on my skin again Take everything I have Let it be multiplied as it’s broken in your hands You are my daily you are my daily you are my daily bread I wanna feel love like the rain Soak me to the bone so I can give again
10.
Lord make a path where the old legs have walked in vain Brush of the sticks and the stones I have thrown at your name Make it look white like a lamp that can show me the way Oh it’s time for a change again Oh it's time for a change again Pour out a drink let it overflow in my cup Cause it’s been so dry now I remember why we fell in love in the first place Let all the flowers bud cause every colour to reign Oh it’s time for a change again Oh it's time for a change again Take off the bandage expose what I am to the air I know it’s painful but darkness I no longer fear It’s the salt on the wound that brings healing right after the pain Oh it’s time for a change again Oh it's time for a change again
11.
I don’t wanna eat my fill And never taste a word from you I don’t wanna please the world If it means that I won’t please you And I don’t wanna have everything Gain it all but lose your truth And I don’t wanna say a thing If it aint what you’ve told me to say Your kingdom come Your will be done Well I don’t wanna build a house On the sand of the world And I don’t wanna see the storm Destroy all the things that I thought that I loved And I don’t wanna seek all pleasures Then be starved on the side of your road And I don’t only want to love those who’ve loved me first to find I was never merciful Your kingdom come Your will be done

about

My feet on the ground, my heart in heaven

The Psalmist’s vocation is a strange thing. He’s charged with defining that invisible line between earth and sky. His eyes to the horizon and a pen that traces the lines of the road beyond it, giving voice to that which is and which is not yet.

He lives in a strange state of disrepose. His songs are hallelujahs born from wartime, they’re lamentations of violence and beauty. And all the time, they’re these temporal views through a shaded glass, an ersatz alter.

Posters channels the vein of the old folk sage, the spirit-man who looks to the ancient roads for a map of the human heart. We lean on the people who write these songs, for they have found a way to peddle proper truth. There is brokenness in these verses, rusted tracks of imperfection, but as with the old psalms, there is always hope at the end, like the prodigal’s dawn.

Let them speak of man who lives to die
And in my bones beat the pleasure of your fire
My heart still breaks but the rivers running wilder every day
That’s how I know
I am home

The Psalmist always understands. His songs are always meant to mirror the tension of nature. The push and pull of the tides and the cycle of the seasons. So it is with us, broken vessels all, struggling between the earth and the sky, and salvation and deception. The Psalmist knows we are the both link and the great divide. God’s great inheritance sewn in flesh and bone.

We are all posters here. Makeshift images of perfection. Hope’s advertisements, worn with frayed edges and waning shades of red.

It is the Psalmist who reminds us that we are still works of art.
